The Bolshevik October Revolution of 1917, organised by radical Marxists, or Bolsheviks, overthrew... Continue reading "The Revolutions of 1905 and 1917: Impact and Legacy" »

The Influence of Stereotypes and the Importance of Self-Esteem

My take on this video, considering it's from the 80s and 90s, is a fairly decent and open video for the time being. The phrase "everyone can use sunscreen" means that it symbolizes that there are no social or cultural limits when it comes to the rights or wishes of people of all races. It's also about the common stereotypes of women or men in magazines and how their influence can make you feel miserable or less important than them or ugly.

The relationship of this song with the topics covered is strong at first glance, everything speaks of how in some societies, they are used to stereotyping women with perfect bodies and men with muscles and a firm body, so he sings about how people should not focus on how the perfect people in magazines compare

But you know what is the most noticeable fact, is that whilst 21.72% of Spaniards are employed in qualified positions, only 5.06% of foreigners are. And even wider is the difference in positions of Public Administration, business management or as professionals and technicians: 23.01% of Spaniards fall under this category, compared to 4.01% of foreigners. You can clearly see with all of this evidence that immigrants take all the jobs the Spaniards think they are too low for them.
