Physical Properties of Laser Light

The physical properties of a laser (Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation) describe the unique characteristics of the light it emits. Below are the key physical properties:

1. Monochromaticity

• Definition: Laser light consists of a single wavelength or color.
• Explanation: Unlike ordinary light, which contains multiple wavelengths, laser light is highly monochromatic. This means it possesses a narrow spectral width.

2. Coherence

• Definition: The phase relationship between light waves remains constant over time and distance.
• Types:
  • Temporal coherence: This relates to how long the phase of the wave remains constant and is linked to monochromaticity.
  • Spatial coherence: This refers to the uniformity of phase

The heart is the motor of the circulation. If it stops, the brain stops receiving oxygen and dies.

The Phases of the Cardiac Cycle

Every beat of the heart follows a set of phenomena that constitute a cardiac cycle:

• Atrial systole: The atria contract and push blood into the ventricles.
• Ventricular systole: The ventricles contract and the blood leaves through the arteries by forcing the opening of the pulmonary artery and aortic valves. Blood cannot flow backward toward the atria, and its momentum causes the closure of the atrioventricular valves. This closure causes the first heart sound.
• Diastole: The musculature of the heart walls relaxes, but the blood in the arteries cannot flow back toward the ventricles.

Understanding the Resultant Vector

The result of a vector sum is known as the resultant vector (R = A + B + C). There are two primary methods to sum vectors graphically.

The Parallelogram Method

The Parallelogram Method only works for two vectors. First, you must draw both vectors from the same origin point using a proper scale. Then, using triangles, draw parallel auxiliary lines that touch the tip of each vector. By doing this, an intersection of the auxiliary lines is formed. The result of the vector sum is the resultant vector formed when the origin point and the intersection are joined together. The tip of the resultant vector is located at the intersection, and the direction is measured from the origin point.

Reason is the power and the act of explaining, arguing, or justifying something. Depending on its use and valuation, we can speak of different rationalities. One of the most classical distinctions is the difference between theoretical and practical rationality.

Theoretical reason is oriented toward the contemplation of the world and the knowledge of reality, seeking to fathom, explain, and understand it. Practical reason, according to Kant, is the use of reason that guides action. This prevails over passions to orient us toward a moral ideal set by reason itself. Aristotle calls this prudential reason, a deliberative reason that attempts to clarify what one should choose for happiness.
