Present simple

I go/she goes, I don't go/she doesn't go, Do I go/Does she go?
- Regular habit or routine, a true scientific fact (always usually at 1 o'clock at night...)

Present continuous

I am asking, I'm not asking, Am I asking?
- Action happening now (now at the moment right now), temporary action (this year at present today these days...), plan for the near future (this evening tonight tomorrow...)

Past simple

I worked, I didn't work, Did I work?
- Completed action in the past, series of completed actions in the past (yesterday last week when then)

Past continuous

I was running/you were running, I wasn't running/you weren't running, Was I running?/Were you running?
- Action in progress at a specific time in the past (at 4 o'clock last night...), incomplete action interrupted by another action or two incomplete actions in progress at the same moment in the past (when while as)

Present perfect simple

I have eaten/He has eaten, I haven't eaten/He hasn't eaten, Have I eaten?/Has he eaten?
- Action starting in the past and continuing in the present, action starting in the past at an unspecified time and connected to the present (never ever already just yet recently lately how long for since in recent years)

Past perfect simple

I had fallen, I hadn't fallen, Had I fallen?
- Completed action before another action in the past (already by the time after before until never just)

Future simple

I will win, I won't win, Will you win?
- Predictions, timetable, spontaneous decisions (this evening, in an hour, later, tomorrow, soon, in a few weeks, in the future...)

Be going to

I am going to eat, I'm not going to eat, Am I going to eat?
- Planned action for the future, action that is going to happen

Future perfect simple

I will have lost, You won't have lost, Will I have lost?
- Complete action for the near future (by this time next week, by the end of... by then, by August, in four months)

Future continuous

I will be swimming, I won't be swimming, Will I be swimming?
- Action in progress in the near future (at this time tomorrow, next..., on Thursday, in the next decade)

Present perfect continuous

I have been sleeping, I haven't been sleeping, Have I been sleeping?
- Action that started in the past and continues in the present and action whose results are evident

Past perfect continuous

I had been sleeping, I hadn't been sleeping, Had I been sleeping?
- Action that continues until another action in the past (they had been studying for two hours before we arrived)
