Definition: Democracy is a political system in which people choose their leaders voting .

Explanation of the characteristics (short paragraph and an example):
Equality: A situation in which everyone is equal and has the same rights. In democracy all the people is the same under the law.
Freedom: The right to live in the way you want without being controlled by anyone else. To do what you want. It is connected with justice, equality and humanrights.
Power division: The power is divided in three different groups.
Executive → Execute the law (Government)
Judicial → Make sure that everyone does what the law sais. (Judges)
Legislative → To write the laws, to create budgets and to control the government. (Parliament)
