Catching Up: My Summer in Peru

Hi Jona,

How are you doing? Thanks for your email. It’s great to hear from you again. I wanted to tell you that I’ve just returned from my summer trip, and it was awesome. I spent nearly three months in Peru, and life there is very different from Spain. I really enjoyed it and met many new people. The weather wasn't the best, but I had a lot of fun.

Why don’t we go there next year? You should talk to your parents about it; we could spend time together. I must go now. Say hello to your family. Take care.

P.S. I’m sending some pictures for you to take a look at.

Discovering Tokyo: A Modern Marvel

Have you ever been to Japan? Tokyo is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever visited. Its architecture is very modern, its streets are wide, and its people are the kindest on the planet.

When I was in Tokyo, I was surprised by many things, especially three facts I wasn’t expecting:

  • Make-up trends: Women often wear quite a lot of make-up.
  • Traffic obedience: Tokyo residents are incredibly obedient to traffic lights. Even if there isn’t a single car coming, they won’t cross until the light is green. At first, I found this infuriating, but eventually, I grew accustomed to it.
  • Helpful locals: People will help you even if you don’t ask. While it can be a little overwhelming, it is mostly a positive experience, as they are willing to give directions regardless of how poorly you pronounce Japanese expressions.

Holiday Plans and Future Travels

I haven't been on holiday this summer because I have had a lot of work. I am considering taking a break in November, but I am not sure yet. If I had enough free days, I would travel to Colombia, specifically to Medellín.

Otherwise, I have a lot of tasks to complete during my time off, and I might even work. In short, I haven't decided what I will do for my holidays yet.
