I. Teckentrup Doors

Door Fabrication

A. Door Requirements

• Fire Doors: T30, T60, and T90 ratings.
• Security: RC3 or RC4 compliance.
• Acoustic Requirements: Specific leaf thickness, bottom seals, and rubber seals.
• Access Control: Electrical locks, strikes, emergency release terminals, contacts, and readers.
• Ironmongery: Door closers must be positioned on the secured side per client requirements.

B. Ironmongery & Door Parts

• Electrical Locks: Must comply with fire regulations (2.5m height). Features include read in/out functionality, escape function, fail-safe/secure modes, and internal cableways.
• Mechanical Locks: Assa Abloy 309NE/319NE mortice locks (manual locking required after opening).
• Magnetic Contacts: Interlogix 1078 (25mm diameter) or DLR Tech Ops team compliant models.
• Seals & Hardware: Retractable bottom seals, top/bottom shoot bolts, and floor/wall-mounted door stoppers.
• Handles & Frames: Lever/lever or lever/knob sets; counter, block, or surrounding frames.
• Hinges: 3D heavy-duty hinges or KO hinges for single leaf/riser doors.

Door Installation Best Practices

• Cabling: Ensure magnetic contact cables reach the access control junction box.
• Cable Protection: Use flexible conduit (coppex) for door/lock cableways to facilitate maintenance.
• ACS Integration: If junction boxes are pre-installed, ensure door installers are responsible for routing cables to the box.
• Strikes: Eff Strikes 331 with modules installed adjacent to the ACS junction box.
• Structural Integrity: Ensure wall material is consistent on all 3/4 sides.
• Alignment & Finishing: Use specialized tools for hinge adjustment and squaring. Ensure frames and leaves are lifted to prevent floor scratching and account for floor finishes.

Lessons Learned & Technical Constraints

• Riser Doors: T90 double-leaf doors require counter frames per product approval.
• T90 Drywall Installation: Max height 5.0m. Walls exceeding this require a steel goalpost frame (SHS 100x100x4mm) cladded with fire-resistant Knauf K751 board.
• Aerated Concrete: T90 double door maximum size is 2.5m x 2.5m.
• Mortar Gaps: Strictly limited to 15mm at the top and 10mm on each side.
• Locking Mechanisms: Doors taller than 2.5m require 3-point locking mechanisms (e.g., Assa Abloy 819NE) compliant with fire certifications.
• Clearance: Bottom gap between door leaf and floor must be 6mm–10mm for smoke and fire compliance.
