The Importance of Sustainable Energy Production

1. Solar Energy

Several points in favor of solar energy are that it does not produce pollution, reduces electricity costs, and is silent. In contrast, the initial costs of installing a solar energy system can be high compared to other alternatives, and it is intermittent because it is limited to certain times and requires significant space.

2. Wind Power

Wind power is the use of airflow through wind turbines to mechanically power generators for electric power. It does not produce pollution, the potential is enormous, and the operational costs are consistently decreasing. Nevertheless, noise is a problem for some people living in the surroundings of wind turbines. In addition, they can be a threat to birds and, like solar energy, wind is unpredictable and its availability is not constant.

3. Hydropower

Hydropower produces electricity from water. It allows for the storage of water for recreational activities and the supply of irrigation systems. On the contrary, the main disadvantage is the environmental consequence related to the intervention in nature due to the repression of water and the change of water flow.
