Part 1: The Epidemic of Beauty Sickness

It is true that women worry too much about their bodies and their appearance. However, they are constantly bombarded by media stereotypes, while in reality, no one actually looks like that. Many believe that these unrealistic standards are healthy, failing to realize that such pressures can lead to eating disorders. While most women aspire to be "beautiful," they often forget that they are already beautiful as they are, not because of how they look. Women should feel confident and good about themselves.

Color Does Not Define Beauty

It is ironic how our generation has associated beauty with being light-skinned. It is disheartening that an elegant, dark-complexioned girl might feel insecure about her skin color.

Who decided that beauty is defined by having white or pale skin? Unfortunately, this is the society we live in—a society where skin lightening has become a cultural obsession, and where the stigmatization of dark skin and the rigid perception that correlates lighter skin tones with beauty remain the order of the day.

But beauty has no skin tone. Color does not define beauty; it is defined by our minds, our individuality, and our character. Show me a person with love, compassion, and kindness, and I will show you someone with the kind of beauty that I admire!

Abuse of Power

The abuse and misuse of power or authority in the workplace can occur with external stakeholders and internally among staff. The effects can be damaging to morale and working relationships.

Abuse of power or authority can take various forms, including:

  • Bullying or harassing behavior.
  • Requesting staff to do personal errands or favors.
  • Pressuring staff to distort facts or break rules.
  • Interfering with the ability of a colleague to work effectively (e.g., by impeding access to information or resources).
