Impressionism:The Impressionist movement is considered the starting point of contemporary art.The impressionists chose to paint outdoors and depict scenes of everyday life. Their first goal was to get a representation of the world spontaneously and directly, so they focused on the effects that natural light produces on objects.

Surrealism:Surrealism gives value to the irrational and unconscious. The dictation of thought is free from the control of reason. The most important surrealists are: Miró, Duchamp, Dalí, André Breton and Remedios Varo.
