Abstract: English Studies Research

Although English Studies is one of the most requested degrees at the University of Alicante, understanding why students choose it and their level of satisfaction is essential to enhance the curriculum. To address this, research was conducted among 25 students via a questionnaire on Facebook. While 41.7% had a vague idea about the syllabus before starting, 33.3% knew nothing about it, and 25% knew it thoroughly. The primary reason for choosing this degree is to learn the language. Despite wanting to change some aspects, students were largely satisfied with the overall development of the program. Most students intend to pursue a master's degree to become teachers. These findings suggest the degree meets student needs, though teaching skills should be reinforced within the curriculum.
