The English dominance the future in Latin America

In this article let's talk about the English dominance in the future of Latin America. Although most countries in Latin America speak Spanish, English has become the second most important language around the world. The United States, being one of the most influential countries, has made English dominant. This is why this topic has been selected, as there may be more native speakers of Portuguese, Spanish, Quechua, or French, but it is English they speak when they talk across cultures, and English they teach their children to help them become citizens of an ever more advanced world.

In the time of globalization and technology, English dominates the world as no language ever has, and some linguists are now saying it may never be dethroned as the king of languages.

In the article 'English won't dominate as world language,' there is this phrase: 'English is likely to remain one of the world’s most important languages for the foreseeable future, but its future is more problematic and complex than most people appreciate,' said David Graddol. I agree on a certain part because yes, English will always remain one of the most important languages, but its future will not be problematic. In Latin America, as it is known, the majority of countries speak Spanish, but the best business that is handled on this continent is with the United States, and the companies that do these businesses need people who speak English. So, little by little, the generations will adopt English as a normal or simple language, dominating it in their daily lives, and that will make Latin America have a single language.

Also, in the text in the section 'Multilingual home,' it says: 'The notion that English shouldn’t, needn’t, and probably won’t displace local languages seems natural to me,' said Stephen Anderson. I completely disagree because in this time, English is necessary, and in the future, it will be very, very important, not only in Latin America but in most of the world.

To conclude, we live in a continent that changes thanks to technology, and with that, people need to be communicated, but as if we speak different languages because, well, English becomes a second language for all and little by little will make Latin America only speak English.
