Chapter 6

Helen's Discovery

When Helen came home from school, she could tell something unusual was happening. Gregory's class teacher and the headmistress were talking with her parents.

Gregory's Progress

Gregory's teacher was happy with his progress because he was learning quickly and had a good influence on the class.

School Improvements

If the school wanted to take more children with problems, they would have to adapt the building. This included installing ramps for wheelchairs, lifts, different toilets, and wider doors.

The Headmistress's Suggestion

The headmistress suggested that Helen and her friends organize a fundraising event to raise money. The winning team would win a trip to Paris.

Chapter 7

Fundraising Ideas

There were many different ideas for fundraising. Some students wanted to bake cakes, others wanted to take photographs, give private lessons, or organize children's parties.

The Competition

The principal rivals of the three friends were the "Beauty Team," a group of girls from Year Ten.

The "Beauty Team" went to people's houses and styled their hair. Their prices were much lower than at the hairdressers'.

Advantages of the Leisure Centre

Helen was a member of the leisure centre, so they thought perhaps they could use the hall for free. They also believed the leisure centre would give them a lot of publicity.

Food for the Party

The friends were hoping local businesses would donate food in exchange for publicity.

Chapter 8

Costume Party Cancellation

The costume party was canceled because there was a hole in the roof of the venue, and water was leaking everywhere.

Announcing the Cancellation

The friends planned to phone the local radio station and put up announcements on the school walls to inform everyone about the cancellation.

Reactions to the Cancellation

The "Beauty Team" was furious about the cancellation and confronted the friends. Mike, a student journalist, wanted to interview them, but they declined.

Good News from the Radio

A man offered the friends the use of his warehouse for the party after hearing about their predicament on the local radio station.

Chapter 9

Bobby's Concerns

Bobby was worried about the newspaper team profiting from the party.

Decision Fatigue

The friends couldn't decide what event to do next because they were tired, studying for exams, and felt they couldn't keep asking businesses for freebies.

A Visit to the Studio

Helen and Bobby visited a television studio. They enjoyed watching at first but became bored after a while.

Joe's Proposal

Joe suggested they organize a fashion show for their next event. He believed Helen would be a perfect model.

Joe's Support

Joe was prepared to help with the fashion show because he was excited about the idea.
