Curriculum
Curriculum is a concept used in all stages of education. It is a set of decisions about what, how, and when to teach and how to assess what has been done. In other words, simple decisions are taken to initiate and develop the teaching process.
Decree
Decree: Its development is the responsibility of the Ministry of Education and the Autonomous Communities.
Motion
Motion: It consists of aligning the curriculum to the specific characteristics of each center. The Education Project is part of the center.
Program
Program: The adequacy of the decisions taken by the educational team to the needs and characteristics of a group of children.
Competencies
Competencies are the application of capacities in context. General education competencies are common to all stages of education and include:
- Learning to live responsibly
- Learning to learn and think
- Learning to communicate
- Learning to live together
- Learning to grow as a person
- Learning to do and undertake
Area
Area: A curriculum unit around which the objectives associated with it and the curriculum content are organized.
Contents
Contents are the learning experiences through which children can develop their skills. Contents collect information from everything that we can learn and help achieve the capabilities proposed in the objectives. There are three types of content that are equally important and contribute to developing skills:
- Concepts
- Procedures
- Attitudes
Concepts
Concepts refer to the acquisition of the initial notions that children construct from their progressive environment. They are acquired in parallel with procedures and sometimes are developed jointly.
Procedures
Procedures are a set of actions aimed at achieving an end. They follow a sequence and are directed toward reaching a goal or purpose. I.e., they involve identifying and refining the steps to get the procedure right.
Methodology
Methodology: Principles that should underpin the educational activities in this phase. These provide information and criteria for the educator to act and to propose and implement educational activities. The methodology answers how? and refers to the issues that the educator must take into account when planning and developing practice.
Didactic Program
Didactic program: Serves as a central organizer of content. It includes the content to be worked on and the methodology for carrying it out. It also reflects the originality of the educational team and how they organize their training. The model should be open, diverse, and adapted to each educational reality.
Attention to Diversity
Attention to diversity is an important pedagogical element in which we identify the individual characteristics of each child. Reflect in writing the needs of children with special educational needs.
