Syntactic functions of subordinate clauses
Subordinates can be S O C or Advl in a superordinate clause.
S= That DO= wh IO= Wh SC= That OC= to inf clause. ( S* know S** to be Show) Avl Wh clause. → time place etc. Inside the elements can be: Post modifier= that, prepositional complement = on what Adj complementation: Happy to see you.
