Uluru (Ayers Rock)

Located in North Australia, within the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, Uluru is a unique, massive, rounded rock formation composed of hard red sandstone. Formed through erosion over 500 million years ago, it presents one of Australia's most spectacular landscapes. The site is spiritually sacred and an ancestral place for the Aboriginal people. They request that visitors show respect, though climbing Uluru is often discouraged by park authorities today.

The Great Wall of China

Situated near Beijing, this structure is the world's longest human-made defensive barrier. It stands as a powerful symbol of China's history, culture, determination, and engineering skills, originally built to protect China against invaders. It stretches over 8,850 km from east to west across northern China.

The Taj Mahal

Located in Agra, India, the Taj Mahal is constructed of white marble. It was built by an Indian ruler in honor of the memory of his favorite wife. Regarded as an architectural masterpiece and one of the most beautiful buildings globally, it sits on the banks of the Yamuna River. Its construction required 20,000 workers and took 22 years to complete. The couple is entombed in a crypt below the center chamber, which is not open to the public.

The Blue Mosque (Sultan Ahmed Mosque)

Found in Istanbul, Turkey, this mosque is considered one of the most beautiful in the world. It is characterized by cascading domes, intricate ceramic blue tiles, courtyards, and six minarets. The interior is adorned with more than 20,000 handmade blue ceramic tiles.

Petra

Located in Jordan, Petra is a desert city hidden within a narrow valley between mountains, carved directly from solid rock. It was established around 100 BC as the capital city of the Nabataeans, an Arab tribe. The Nabataeans developed Petra into a wealthy caravan trading center, carving temples, tombs, and an 8,000-seat amphitheater. The entrance to Petra is through a 1.5 km siq (canyon). At the end of the siq lies the Treasury (Al-Khazneh), a royal tomb carved into the mountain face.

Floating Markets

Found in Bangkok, Thailand, these are colorful and vibrant markets where traders sell goods from their boats along rivers and canals. This scene has become a symbol of the traditional way of life in Thailand. The boats are piled high with:
