My Free Time in Valencia
When I have free time, I usually spend it doing outdoor activities. I go for a walk, cycle, visit a river with my friends, walk on the beach, or enjoy a meal on a terrace.
Valencia is sunny almost every day, and I enjoy doing all these activities outdoors. In summer, because it is too hot, I avoid going out in the morning to very hot places. Instead, I take the opportunity to go to a restaurant, the cinema, or air-conditioned shopping centers.
At night, I go to bed late because the heat makes it difficult to sleep, so I take advantage of the time and go out with my friends for a beer, go to a pub, or do something outdoors.
When I have several days off, I also like to go camping. If I have a few days off, I go to Teruel, and if I have a week, I go to Asturias because I love the landscape and the weather there in summer. It is one of my favorite places to travel.
My Holidays in Portugal
This summer, I haven't gone on holiday because I have been working, but last year, I was in Portugal for fifteen days, from the sixth to the twentieth of August. I traveled there with three friends by car.
We reserved the hotels in advance. We booked hotels in three cities: Oporto, Lisbon (Lisboa), and Figueira da Foz. The first day, I drove from Santurtzi to Oporto. We visited Ciudad Rodrigo, and on the way to Portugal, we stopped to eat at Viseu. We arrived in Oporto in the afternoon, checked into the hotel, and left our suitcases. Then, we went to see the city at night.
The next day, my friends and I saw the city on a tourist bus. The following days, we visited different places: Guimarães, Braga, Aveiro, but always returned to the hotel in Oporto at night. On the fifth day, we went from Oporto to Lisbon. On the way, we stopped to see the Batalha Monastery, which is very beautiful. We also stopped in Fátima, and lastly, we visited the Templar Castle in Tomar.
The weather was very hot there. When we arrived in Lisbon, we sat down on the terrace of a bar and drank a large glass of beer. For six days, we explored Lisbon, wanting to see the entire city. We traveled by tram (tranvía), by metro, and on foot.
