Molar Analysis

Molar analysis assesses behavior from a global or general perspective. This analysis does not specify individual details. Behavior can be classified according to its consequences or its contents:

  • Based on consequences:
    • Suitable: If the consequences of the conduct are positive for the person and others.
    • Inadequate: If the consequences are negative for the person or others.
  • Based on the contents of the conducts:
    • Assertive Behavior: Behaviors that allow a person to express themselves properly in accordance with their interests and goals, respecting the rights of others. This behavior shows the individual as they are, and not how they would like to be. It involves being able to maintain their own ideas, make and receive criticism, and express disagreement, always controlling the level of anxiety.
    • Passive/Inhibited Conduct: Behaviors that are changed or varied to suit the interests and objectives of other people (e.g., those who want to go unnoticed). They defer to others to avoid discussions and avoid losing status, affection, or belonging to a group. This means the renunciation of their own rights and interests, and not being able to properly express and defend their feelings, thoughts, and opinions.
      • Characteristics of this behavior:
        • Putting the rights of others above their own.
        • Prioritizing the desires of others.
        • Expressing ideas hesitantly.
        • Appearing in people with low self-esteem.
    • Aggressive Behavior: Behaviors that are contrary to everything that surrounds it. They defend rights and personal desires above all else, violating the rights and interests of others. They put people at a lower level, aiming to maintain supremacy at all times, but are afraid of being humiliated. It's a defensive posture. Aggressive behavior may be verbal (threats or insults) or nonverbal.

Intermediate Analysis

This takes the best aspects of both molar and molecular analysis.

Molecular Analysis

This analysis is divided into specific components of behavior to be measured objectively and reliably, giving validity to the conduct. According to molecular analysis, we can distinguish four types of components of behavior:

  • Psychophysiological
  • Motor
  • Cognitive
  • Psychosocial

The ability of autonomy: For a person to become autonomous, they need, from birth, potentiation and the facilitation of capacity development through the acquisition of habits and routines. Some of these become competencies or skills that will increase the desire to become a person with independence.
