Species: The name given to each of the groups that divide the sexes, i.e., the limitation of the generic in a particular field of morphology. In biology, a species is the basic unit of biological classification.

Variations: These are the distinctive features that occur in individuals of the same species. These changes or differentials in characteristics of individuals relate to those who show up. Even though their heredity plays an important role in the transmission of hereditary or genetic characteristics, there is no chance, or a very remote one, that there are individuals the same as those around us.

Adaptation: A biological adaptation is an anatomical structure, physiological process, or behavioral trait of an organism that has evolved over a period through natural selection in such a way that it increases your long-term expectations to successfully reproduce.

Geographic Isolation: The separation in space of individuals of the same species. When geographic isolation continues for many generations, there are signs of the formation of new species (in this case, allopatric speciation).

Seasonal Isolation: Although two populations of organisms can live in a geographical region, reproductive periods may occur in different seasons. The result is that organisms of a population cannot mate with members of other species, although possible physical contact between the two. This type of isolation is common among plants and insects. Organisms can become sexually mature at different seasons or times of day.

Genotype: The genotype is the specific content of an individual genome in the form of DNA. Along with the environmental variation that influences the individual, it codes the phenotype of the individual. Otherwise, the genotype can be defined as the set of genes of an organism, and the phenotype is the combination of traits of an organism.

Phenotype: The phenotype is called the expression of the genotype in a given environment. Genotypic traits include both physical and behavioral traits. Importantly, the phenotype cannot be defined as the "visible manifestation" of the genotype because sometimes the characteristics being studied are not visible in the individual, such as the presence of an enzyme.

Mutation: An alteration or change in genetic information (genotype) of a living being and, therefore, will produce a change in the pattern, which occurs suddenly and spontaneously and can transmit or pass on to the offspring.
