Station Road: Road transport stations are concentrated centers for departures and arrivals of public transport vehicles which meet the regulatory conditions and requirements. Stations can be for passengers and/or goods.
Passenger Stations (Minimum Conditions)
- Access to entrances and exits for vehicles.
- Access for incoming and outgoing travelers, independent of the vehicles.
- A sufficient number of covered docks for simultaneous parking.
- Covered platforms for boarding and disembarking passengers.
- Separate waiting areas from the platforms.
- Sanitation facilities.
- Billing agencies, luggage and ticket sales, and information office.
- Other facilities, according to the characteristics of the services that each station has to meet, determined by the Minister of Transport, Communications and Tourism and the Autonomous Communities.
Dry Port
Dry Port: An intermodal freight terminal located within a country and has a direct link (by rail) with a seaport. Generally, the indoor enclosure is enabled as maritime customs, making it an "extension of the seaport" and an entry to the EU.
Logistics Activities Zone (ZAL)
Logistics Activities Zone (ZAL): Logistics platforms are linked to ports and maritime goods. They usually handle import and export goods. Generally, there are 3 possibilities for storage of goods: Free Zone, Customs warehouse, and warehouse.
Free Zone
Free Zone: A part of properly defined territory in which the goods entered are considered outside the national customs regarding import duties and taxes, and are not subject to the usual customs control.
Distriparks
Distriparks: These are usually regional platforms, which have all services and equipment necessary to perform the functions of storage and distribution of goods for a regional area.
Logistics City
Logistics City: Infrastructure-oriented urban distribution of goods or also a structure to concentrate the flow of goods and then optimizing delivery routes within the urban area.
Air Cargo Center
Air Cargo Center: Platforms specialized in modal exchange (air-ground) and in the treatment of air cargo goods.
Logistic Platform
Logistic Platform: These are areas or zones where there are breaks in the transport chain and perform services that add value (loading/unloading, modal interchange, labeling, picking, storage, packaging...).

Intermodal/Multimodal Terminal
Intermodal/Multimodal Terminal: A place equipped for the transshipment and storage of intermodal transport units (ITUs).
Central Node / Hub
Central Node / Hub: The central node (hub station) is the central point for the collection, sorting, transfer, and redistribution of goods in a given geographical area (radial hub - spoke mode). The Port Hub (maritime transport) is that ocean port that brings a lot of containers to be distributed.

Hinterland: Zone of influence of a port.
