Qualities of Time
Irreversibility
Time cannot go backward. Once something has happened, it cannot be undone.
Inseparability from Space
Everything happens in a particular time and space. These two concepts are inseparable.
Relativity
Time is relative, depending on the observer or the circumstances (subjective).
Multiplicity
Each discipline or science analyzes time from a different perspective.
Essential Competences in Education
Besides Civic competence, our teaching unit prioritizes self-reflection and awareness of relevant social problems to improve society and foster active participation and citizenship. We will assess the following basic competences:
Transversal Competences
Communicative and Linguistic Competence
Students should be able to communicate effectively (listening, speaking, expressing themselves, and writing), including using audiovisual languages, to interpret information, construct and communicate knowledge, and understand reality.
Digital Competence
We will primarily use student-created blogs to assess digital competence, along with their performance in research, analysis, and information selection. This will focus on students' critical and reflective attitudes toward digital information.
Learning to Learn
Students need to regulate their own learning by developing the ability to pursue and organize it, individually or in groups, according to their needs. This includes awareness of learning methods and opportunities. Motivation, self-confidence, and positive attitudes towards learning are essential skills we aim to develop and assess.
Mathematical Competence
Students must master mathematical language and its application to everyday problem-solving.
Cultural and Artistic Competence
Students should use their thinking to create new ideas and draw on their experiences and emotions to produce quality work.
Personal Competences
Autonomy and Personal Initiative
We will assess cooperation, interaction, and dialogue abilities among students, promoting respect, tolerance, and empathy.
Competences for Coexistence and Global Citizenship
Knowledge and Interaction with the Physical World
We aim to foster critical thinking and awareness of rational and responsible consumption.
