Characteristics

Accuracy, conciseness, and organization. It has a simple structure with two parts: information and instructions, in schematic shape and form of narration.

Adverbs

Words that are invariant accompany and modify the verb, the adjective, or another adverb. They indicate:

  • Statement (yes, too)
  • Manner (well, so)
  • Amount (very little)
  • Place (where, are)
  • Time (when, present)
  • Negation (not)
  • Doubt (maybe)

Adverbial Phrases

These are groups of words that perform the same function as adverbs:

  • Manner: forcefully, slowly
  • Time: sometimes, at any time
  • Location: near, above
  • Quantity: month to month
  • Statement: certainly, really
  • Negation: no way
  • Doubt: if anything, depending

Coordinated Sentences

  • Copulative: and, or
  • Disjunctive: or, or
  • Adversative: but, but, however
  • Distributive: either... or, both... and, now... now
  • Explicative: i.e.
  • Continuatives: to them, yet

Numbers

Numbers are written as words when the numerals are formed with at most three words. The number of people, animals, and objects, and approximate quantities, are written as words. Days without mentioning the month are also expressed in words.

Characteristics of Technical or Scientific Texts

Explanatory texts that take the form of expository texts are presented objectively, respecting terminology and symbol systems. Specialized vocabulary is used.

Poetry

Literary texts written in verse. In lyric poetry, the poet expresses their feelings and sensations.

In epic poetry, the author speaks of the outside world and tells stories, facts, or real or fictitious events. Within poetry, there are several subgenres or arrangements, among which we find:

In Poetry

  • Hymn: (Greco-Latin composition, solemn tone)
  • Ode: (similar to a hymn, dedicated to praising a character)
  • Elegy: (Lyrical Composition that expresses grief over the death of a person or before a disgrace)

In Folk Poetry

  • Joy: (poem that sings the virtues of the saints and the mother of God)
  • Christmas: (short composition on the subject of Christmas)
  • Nursery Rhyme: (to be sung by children, to put them to sleep)

Subgenres of Epic Poetry

  • Epic: (magnificent story in verse about the exploits led by a hero or a country)
  • Song of Deeds: (medieval epic poem)
  • Romance: (anonymous composition recited in public places, recalling past events)
