Furniture

• Chest of drawers: A piece of furniture with drawers in which you keep things such as clothes.
• Cushion: A bag made of cloth, plastic, or leather that is filled with soft material, often has an attractive cover, and is used especially on chairs for sitting or leaning on.
• Duvet: A quilt, often with a removable cover; comforter.
• Wardrobe: A tall cupboard in which you hang your clothes.

Room Atmosphere

• Dimly-lit: Describing the way a room is lit when there's only a small amount of light.
• Restful: Used to describe something that produces a feeling of being calm and relaxed.

Social Dynamics

• Alter: To change, or to make someone or something change.
• Compromise: The act of agreeing to something that is not exactly what you want in order to end an argument or solve a problem.
• Hang out: To spend a lot of time in a place or with someone.

Cooking Verbs

• Blend: To cook something such as bread or a cake in an oven.
• Spread: To distribute something over a surface.
• Grind: To make smooth or sharpen something by rubbing or friction.
• Chop: To cut or separate something using a sharp tool.
• Mince: To chop into very small pieces.
• Crush: To press or squeeze with a force that destroys or changes the shape.
• Dice: To cut into small cubes.
• Knead: To make (dough, clay, etc.) into a uniform mixture by pressing, folding, and stretching.
• Season: To give flavor to food by adding salt, pepper, etc.
• Roast: To cook food by direct, dry heat, as in an oven.
• Melt: To change from a solid to a liquid state, typically by heating.
• Whip: To beat to a froth.
• Pour: To cause to flow, as from one container to another.
• Strain: To filter.

• Sink: A basin for washing.
• Cutlery: Cutlery includes any hand implement used in preparing, serving, and especially eating food in Western culture. A person who makes or sells cutlery is called a cutler.
• Blender: An electric mixing machine used in food preparation for liquidizing, chopping, or pureeing.
• Stove: A piece of equipment used to cook food over gas flames or electric heat.
• Grill: A piece of equipment that cooks food using direct heat.
• Kettle: A metal or plastic container with a lid, used for boiling water.
• Pot: A round container, usually used for keeping things in or for cooking.
• Tray: A flat object with higher edges, used for carrying food and drinks.
• Frying pan: A shallow, long-handled pan in which food is fried.
• Pan: A wide or broad, usually shallow metal container used for frying, baking, washing, etc.
• Wok: A large bowl-shaped pan used in cooking Chinese food.
• Saucepan: A metal container of moderate depth, usually having a long handle and sometimes a cover, for stewing, boiling, etc.
• Peeler: Tool for peeling vegetables.
• Dough: A thick, malleable mixture of flour, liquid, and other ingredients, used for baking bread, pastries, etc.
