Team Sports: An Introduction
Team sports are played by teams of more than two players. Cooperation is required between members of the same team to beat the other team. Team sports are played in an area that can be shared by both teams or divided by a net.

Volleyball: A Deep Dive
Playing Area
- Rectangular court measuring 18 x 9 meters
- The net is 2.43 meters high for men and 2.24 meters for women
- Attack zone is 3 meters long and the defense zone is 6 meters long

Objective
Pass the ball into the other part of the court where the other team cannot return it.
Duration of the Match
There is no set time limit. It is the best of five sets and is over when one team wins three.
Team Position
The teams are made up of twelve players: six on the court and the rest on the bench.
Substitutions
The coach can substitute six players every set.
Scoring System
The first team to get 25 points with at least a 2-point advantage wins the set.
Volleyball Regulations and Infractions
Four Touches
Teams can touch the ball up to three times to send the ball over the net.
Two Touches
A single player cannot touch the ball two consecutive times.
Holding
The ball can only be hit. It cannot be held by the player.
Net
Players cannot touch the net with their bodies.
Service
The receiving team cannot block or spike a served ball.
Rotation
Whenever a team scores a point when the opposing team has put the ball into play, the players rotate into a new position, moving clockwise.
