In recent years, people have become increasingly aware of the problems we are causing to the environment. These environmental issues are harming our planet and, consequently, are detrimental to our health. While governments in the richest countries are approving laws to combat pollution, we, as individuals, can also contribute significantly by changing many aspects of our daily lives.
Individual Contributions to a Greener Planet
There are several practical steps we can take to reduce our environmental footprint:
- Recycling: By simply classifying our waste into paper, plastic, and glass bins, we avoid the use of new materials and the continuous exploitation of natural resources. This also helps to save our forests and the animals that live in them.
- Energy Conservation: We must be conscious of our energy consumption. This includes switching off devices we are not using and making an effort to buy environmentally-friendly electrical appliances that help save energy, as energy production is a significant source of pollution. Consider using solar power where feasible.
- Sustainable Transportation: Opting for public transport like buses or underground trains instead of private cars significantly reduces atmospheric pollution.
Collective Efforts for a Sustainable Future
In general, we can do many things to decrease pollution. However, I believe it is fundamentally a question of awareness. While it might seem more uncomfortable to adopt green habits initially, the long-term benefits for our planet and future generations are immense. This is a significant problem that affects all of us, and therefore, we must work together to save our planet.
Addressing Student Stress in Education
In my opinion, life at school can be very stressful. Students often feel immense pressure to achieve good grades, which frequently necessitates studying every day without adequate rest.
Causes of Academic Pressure
The stress stems from multiple factors:
- Intense Study Demands: To excel, students often feel compelled to study continuously.
- Extensive Paperwork: Beyond studying, students are often burdened with a significant amount of paperwork, leaving little time for social activities or personal well-being.
- Poor Holiday Organization: The current timetable, particularly the organization of holidays, contributes to stress. I believe shorter but more frequent holidays would allow students more time to relax and better organize their studies.
Reimagining School Schedules and Evaluation
To decrease stress on students and potentially obtain better academic results, I would propose changes to both the holiday period and the methods of student evaluation.
