My First Surfing Experience in Ajo, Cantabria

Learning to Surf

Two summers ago, when I was 14 years old, I went to a surf camp with my friend Celia in Ajo, Cantabria. It was our first time surfing, and it was an amazing experience!

We spent seven days at the camp with eight other people. Learning to surf and making new friends was incredible. I met a man and his two children, Julia and Jan, from Cataluña. Julia was deaf, and it was an exciting experience learning some gestures from the Deaf Language. There was also a couple, Marcos and Sara, from Zaragoza, and Martine, a girl from Ajo.

During the first few days, we surfed in the whitewash (foam) and learned how to stand up and balance on the board. By the end of the week, the instructors let us go further out to surf on bigger waves and gave us smaller boards. Since there were only a few of us, we received a lot of individual attention and learned quickly. On the last day, we went out with our instructor, Biken, who was a fantastic and fun person!

That week was incredible! It was one of the best experiences of my life.

Additionally, it provides opportunities to meet people from different places and make new friends. The app empowers you to choose your travel companions, and drivers can earn some extra money.

Disadvantages of BlaBlaCar

Despite its advantages, BlaBlaCar also has drawbacks. You don't know much about the driver or your fellow passengers beforehand. There's no guarantee of a friendly or considerate travel companion. Unlike traditional transportation services, BlaBlaCar doesn't offer insurance coverage. In the event of an accident, you would be responsible for all expenses.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I believe BlaBlaCar is a good travel option for meeting new people and saving money. However, it's crucial to be cautious about the driver and other passengers.
