Types of Support and Channels
Wireless support's atmosphere is leading to it being transmitted through electromagnetic waves and sound. Wired support uses some sort of cable, such as coaxial cable or fiber optics.
Channels
Channels are real-time media communication that allows the same instant. Time media are those media differed in the signal sent by the sender is stored in any information recording system, such as magnetic tapes, CDs, and DVDs.
Codes
Communication codes are legion: the languages of mankind, color codes, writing, and language.
Parameters
- Amplitude: The maximum variation of the signal about the value zero.
- Period: The time lag between two consecutive steps by maximum wave value.
- Frequency: The number of oscillations that occur during a given, proper time interval.
- Wavelength: The space traversed by the wave during a full oscillation.
- Speed: The space traversed by a wave for a certain time interval.
- Types of waves: Electromagnetic, mechanical, and noise.
Environmental Change Behavior
- Reflection: In response to a changing environment, the wave changes direction at the boundary of separation, so it remains in the original media.
- Refraction: The wave passes to the new environment and changes direction.
- Absorption: In the new medium, the wave attenuates by ceding part of its energy to the environment.
Sound Waves
Sound waves are produced by mechanical vibrations of some material element. This vibration causes alternative compressions and expansions of the material. Waves are not transmitted through a vacuum. The speed of propagation of sound waves depends on the material through which it is transmitted. In particular, the speed of sound in air is about 340 meters per second.
Properties
- Intensity: Dependent on the amplitude of the wave. If the sound is big, it's strong; if it's small, it's weak.
- Tone: Depends on the frequency. If it is low frequency, the sound is serious, and if it's high, it's acute.
- Timbre: Has to do with the number of sound waves that are superimposed on the primary, which are called harmonics.
- Duration: The amount of time for which the sound persists with continuity.
