A News Report: Stormy Day in Villahermosa
On July 4th, 2015, my friend and I were in a park when suddenly the wind surprised us. We were on our way to a party at Voladero disco when the wind broke a large tree branch and some bottles. The local police in Villahermosa arrived to assess the damages.
However, my friends and I went to our houses with some dust on our clothes. Later, my friend Rosa and I went to the pub in the square, and after a while, more people started to arrive. People were a little scared at first, but as time passed, they calmed down.
In conclusion, the party ended at the same time that the storm finished.
Informal Email to Anna
Hi Anna,
It's been a long time since we've seen or spoken to each other. I hope you are doing well in Torrejón de Ardoz.
I really miss you! I find it strange to go more than two days without seeing you, as we usually see each other every day. I hope your family is well.
My mother told me you called yesterday, but I was at the dentist with my father. Now I'm out of town, and you can't call because there's no cell service here.
Next time you come over, bring some friends with you because I get bored a lot.
Opinion Essay: Music Downloads
Nowadays, many people prefer to download music from the internet because it's free. Some argue that it should be banned, although this angers many people since almost everyone has internet access at home.
In my opinion, downloading music should not be prohibited. I often do it myself. I listen to many songs online instead of buying the album, which is much more expensive.
However, when considering the singers' perspective, perhaps it should be banned, as they would earn much more money that way.
Film Review: Palm Trees in the Snow
Palm Trees in the Snow is a Spanish film directed by Fernando González Molina. It was released on December 25, 2015, coinciding with Christmas Day.
In 1953, Kilian leaves the mountains with his brother to travel to Fernando Pó, a former Spanish colony in Equatorial Guinea. There, his father awaits him at the Sampaka plantation, where he grows some of the best cocoa in the world. In the colony, Kilian discovers that social life is more enjoyable than in conservative and gray Spain. He experiences the contrasts between settlers and natives and learns the meaning of friendship, passion, love, and hate.
