My Experience with Speed Flatmating in Spain

I had never heard of "speed flatmating" before, but it seems like a great idea. I like the people there very much. Actually, I'm living in a new apartment in Spain. Life with My New International Flatmates

One of my flatmates, Mafer, is originally from England. She's a good laugh and she's a people person. We always practice English together. My other flatmate is Liam; he comes from Brazil. He's great fun, but he's very messy. Every night we get together to talk, watch movies, or go out to parties. I haven't had problems with them. I'm a people person, so I feel very happy and comfortable here. I found this "speed flatmating" thing in the newspaper. Formal Complaint About Neighbor Noise Disturbance

Dear Mayor Alvarez, I am writing with regard to the new burglar alarm which my neighbors next door have installed in their house. Briefly, the problem is that the new burglar alarm was activated three times per night during a week with a very loud sound, and that is annoying. I have two children and they can't sleep well because of the alarm noise. I've already tried to talk about this matter with my neighbors, but they are on vacation. I tried to talk to them yesterday, but they told me that they are too busy.

Suggested Improvements for Local Security Alarms

In order to resolve this matter, I am requesting that the alarm be turned off immediately, because nobody in the neighborhood can live in peace. I also suggest that the local government order that when a burglar alarm is activated, it does not generate any noise because it affects others.
