The End of the Universe: A Hidden Gem in Sala

Places have always been important in people's lives. Throughout our lives, we get to know various places that become connected to us. One of the most important places in our life is our birthplace.

Discovering My Sanctuary in Sala

Any place can become my favorite if it fulfills three criteria: intimacy, few people, and relaxation. And that place I found here, in my hometown, in Sala.

"Tea at the End of the Universe" – A Unique Tea Room

This special spot, affectionately known as "Tea at the End of the Universe," is located next to my school in a smaller house. People rarely notice it; it doesn't attract a lot of attention. On the other hand, it is known only by a few people, and that makes it so special.

A Decade of Transformation and Creativity

It was established on May 4, 2010, by two people, or rather, an older gentleman, as his son later took over. Incredible changes have taken place since its inception:

  • From ordinary chairs and tables to soft lighting and comfortable pillows.
  • From simple walls to creative paintings by diverse artists, mostly local.
  • From basic service to ultimately friendly and welcoming hospitality.

The tea room is very often used for concerts and exhibitions because it provides a platform for people who want to express themselves.

More Than Just Tea: An Immersive Experience

Here, you aren't just drinking tea; you're also:

  • Leading intellectual debates about life and issues.
  • Playing games.
  • Reading books.
  • Playing the piano.

When I open the creaky old door, I am immediately greeted by the aroma of Arabic bread, tea, scented candles, and the sound of music, which lingers in my mind until I leave.

Privacy and Charm in Every Corner

I sit, or possibly lie down, in the "box" where I have total privacy and no one disturbs me. Each box is separated to ensure that everyone's secrets remain behind the colored walls. I'm surrounded by embroideries, carpets, pictures, and aroma lamps. Everything has its place, its harmony, its charm. Especially when I order tea with small fruits.

The Unique Vessels

The cups? They are painted vessels, large and featuring a unique pull tab.

The Best Time to Visit

In my opinion, it's best to visit here late at night, especially in winter. Despite the cold, frosty, and silent outside, inside is warm and joyful, a feeling that stays with me until the next day.

A Truly Breathtaking Place

I first visited in 2011, and since then, I've known it as the most creative, artistic, peaceful, pleasant, and breathtaking place in this city.
