Two years ago, I met again with a girl named Maite. Maite and I had been friends since we were little. We met in Barcelona, specifically in the Ramblas of Plaza Cataluña. She used to live here, in La Llagosta, but due to family problems, she had to move to France.

When we met, it was very strange because we didn't know how to react by simply saying hello or hugging each other. When we saw each other, we quickly went towards each other and hugged each other very tightly. It had been two years since we had seen or spoken to each other. We had completely lost touch. We started talking, and I told her that there were times when I talked to her, but she didn't get the messages and she told me that she had changed her cell phone and lost all of her numbers.

She and I were best friends, more than sisters. Later, we went for a drink, and after that, we exchanged numbers. To this day, we still talk to each other. Moreover, this summer we will see each other again.

In 2017, the family of one of my best friends, Natalia, decided to move out to another city called Vitoria. That was a terrible notice for me and Zaira (my other best friend) because we would miss her so much. We couldn't visit her because she moved far away from where we lived. We had been best friends since we were 3 years old.

Before she left, we said goodbye, and she promised us that she would call us and that we would not lose contact with each other, and that she would tell us about the new friends she would make. But after leaving the city, we never heard from her again. She didn't answer the messages we sent her, and she changed her number.

Later, Zaira and I tried to contact her mother and she told us that Natalia did not want to know anything more about her past, and she wanted to completely change her life. So she told us not to bother her again.

7 years later, Zaira saw her 2 times in a shopping center with her sister. However, Natalia didn’t greet her. She just ignored her and walked like nothing happened. Zaira was really sad. I said to her that people change, and probably Natalia did it after too much time. But what has become clear is that she has never been our friend as we thought. To this day, I have not seen her again and I do not want to see her again.
