A Rainy Day Reunion
It had been a long and rainy day. Michael had been working all day and was very tired and hungry.
He decided to go and have dinner at a restaurant which was very near his office. He put his raincoat on, took his umbrella, and headed to the street.
The restaurant was full. So, he decided to sit at the bar and order some fish and chips. While Michael was waiting, he looked around and saw a familiar face.
Wow, he thought, that's Margaret. I haven't seen her for ages. Margaret had been his classmate at secondary school.
They both smiled at each other and Michael said hello. They talked about their lives.
To Margaret's surprise. Michael is engaged to Hanna. She was Margaret's flatmate when they were at university.
Job Interview Preparation: Essential Tips
Hello Hanna! How are you? I'm so sorry for not writing before, but I've been terribly busy. I have been thinking about what you told me in your email, and it is normal to be nervous before a job interview, but you have enough time to prepare for it.
I have just found an infographic online about this topic, and according to it, the key points you should bear in mind are these:
- Before the interview: You should look for information about the company and the job to prepare the right answers. It is recommended to dress appropriately and to be well-groomed.
- During the interview: You can make a good impression with a nice, firm handshake, being polite, and showing confidence with your body language and your assertions. But more importantly, point out your talents and values.
Give me a call and let me know what happened in the end. Take care and good luck!
Promoting Gender Equality in Schools
Hi Oscar,
I totally agree with you! I also think that your job is fundamental and it can help to educate children on gender equality. As a teacher, you have to do something to fight against inequality.
Not long ago, I read some information on how to overcome gender stereotypes in schools, so I'm going to summarize the most important things you can do:
- First of all, you need to use gender-neutral toys and materials and demonstrate that all sports and games can be played by boys and girls.
- Secondly, you can design a project for your school that promotes the equality of men and women and train your students and their parents on how to avoid sexist behaviors.
- Thirdly, you could also teach your colleagues how to treat boys and girls equally so that they also know how to promote equal rights in their classrooms.
That's all for now! Tell me what you think about my tips and if there's anything else I can do, please contact me again. I'll be happy to help!
See you soon!
Love,
Matt xx
