Dependency Law

Second decade of the 70s: Spanish Constitution principles. Approval of the national social security plan for elderly care. 90s: Gerontological plans (Huet, Senior White Paper, LAAD).

Purpose of the Law

To regulate basic conditions guaranteeing equality in the exercise of subjective rights of citizenship, promoting personal autonomy and care for people in situations of dependency. Creation of a System for Autonomy and Care with government cooperation and security for the general administration of minimum common rights for all citizens in Spain.

Basic Requirements to Qualify

  • Any age (with peculiarities for children under 3 years).
  • In a position of dependency according to LAAD grades.
