Pursuing an MBA in Finance & Business at Wharton University

After 5 years studying International business and with an emphasis on Finance, I would like to expand my knowledge in this field by applying to the MBA in Finance & Businesses program at Wharton University of Pennsylvania. During my years of study in Universidad del Norte, finance was my field of interest, I took every course of finances with the best attitude because I believe that is the most important factor in a company. Finance became a field of interest because of my high school years, I always wanted to know what happens with the money inside a business. I studied at Liceo de Cervantes school in Barranquilla and that was the beginning of the affection I have for it. I participated in entrepreneurship contests for acquiring more knowledge to fulfill my dream of having my own business and to have the opportunity of trying out the world of business.

I am hoping that this MBA helps me to get the experience and the deep knowledge of this field. I truly believe that Wharton’s University will improve my insight and my vision of business, I have a clear vision of what I want and what I expect, and I reckon, that doing an MBA program will not only improve my professional career, but also, my personal values in life.

I recognize that having good values is more than a trait, is a way of life. My father, who is a well-known businessman in the city, always taught me that despite being an excellent professional, there is much more in business than recognitions and money, there is something that is more valuable than that, and is having a life full of values. I strongly believe that someone without values can not run a business with transparency and in finance is really important to be reliable and transparent.

During my last year, I took Finances & Managerial skills course at Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje SENA and a virtual course of Accounting in the same school, I am always showing interest in learning more and more, because the world of business is uncertain and complex. I consider myself to be responsible, reliable, with a strong sense of conviction, ambition, and willpower and that is why I am applying to the MBA in Finance & Businesses, my intent is to complement my studies by achieving my Master´s degree in Wharton’s University because of the international recognition of their programs, the excellence of their teachers and in a more personal instance, for the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in a field that is of my concern.
