U2 Concert in Madrid: A Fan's Perspective
Possibly the most important Irish rock band in the world, U2 is visiting our country. It is an honor that such an important rock band is coming to Spain. I am very satisfied to be going to Madrid to see the concert. I know almost all their songs, though not all because I don't like their last albums very much. Nevertheless, their first ones are wonderful, with songs like:
- "One"
- "With or Without You"
- "Pride (In the Name of Love)"
The group is formed by four very good musicians, among whom their singer, Bono, stands out as a person concerned about people in the world. I like this group, and in concert, they are a complete spectacle!
London Trip Inquiry: Julio's Questions
Hello!
I'm doing an English course in London and I'm arriving on the 29th of June. I want you to show me the most interesting places there. Can you tell me what type of clothes I need?
Regards,
Julio
Settling into London Life: An Update
Hi!
Thanks for your letter, which I got a couple of days ago. Sorry I've taken so long to answer, but as you can imagine, I've been very busy. Anyway, I think I've sorted out the little problems I was having when I arrived.
The family I'm now staying with is really good and looks after me. She gives me good food, and I'm getting fat! Lessons at the college are fine. We have good teachers, and I understand what they say. My English is improving!
I've also made a couple of friends who are from different countries. I practice my English with them, and sometimes we go to pubs. We're going to the British Museum tomorrow.
My Cozy Room: A Personal Space
My room is very small. It contains a bed, a desk, a chair, and a wardrobe. The bed is next to a large window, which allows plenty of natural light into my room.
On the desk, there are many books and a computer. There's a blue chair next to the desk. It isn't very comfortable, but I like its appearance.
The wardrobe is the biggest piece of furniture in my room. It's brown and made of wood. I keep my clothes, some books, and CDs there. I don't have any posters on the walls because my mum doesn't let me hang anything. Consequently, the walls are white, which I don't like.
I have a big blue and green carpet. Although my room isn't large, I like spending time there because it's cozy.
