Anwar's London Adventure: A Letter to Pedro
To: pepogarcí[email protected]
Subject: Excited to Join You in London!
Hi Pedro,
It was great to get your message! I'm very excited about my stay in London. I'm from Trondheim, Norway, where I live with my parents and younger sister. We're all into sports, especially skiing and ice hockey, which I've been playing for years. Luckily, we have lots of snow to enjoy safely!
I want to improve my English while exploring London. Although I read quite well, I'm still slightly shy when speaking. Hopefully, living with your family will help me become more confident. I'm also eager to explore the city's history and culture.
Could you tell me a bit about your hobbies? I'd love to know what you enjoy doing and any tips you have for improving my English.
Best regards,
Anwar
The Echo of Orange Shoelaces: A Narrative
Sherryl and I met on a rainy Tuesday. She wore orange shoelaces and smiled like the world never hurt her. That day, something changed in me. At first, we were inseparable—sharing secrets, playlists, and the last cookie at lunch. In the beginning, I thought it was just friendship. But I was in love with her, quietly and completely.
After a while, she started texting less. Her world expanded; mine stayed the same. Eventually, she told me she had fallen for someone else. I smiled... and broke a little inside. In the end, we became strangers who once laughed together. But every time it rains, I still look for orange shoelaces.
City vs. Countryside: An Opinion Essay
Where is it Better to Live?
Nowadays, people hold differing opinions about whether it is better to live in the city or in the countryside. Some prefer the city's opportunities, while others enjoy the countryside's peaceful environment. In my opinion, living in the countryside is a better option.
Advantages of Countryside Living
- Healthier Lifestyle: The air is cleaner, and there is less pollution, leading to fewer respiratory diseases. Many families choose to move away from big cities for this reason.
- Quieter Environment: Due to the lack of traffic and crowds, noise pollution is lower. People feel more relaxed, experiencing less stress and anxiety.
Considerations for City Living
On the other hand, cities provide more job opportunities and entertainment, which is why young people often prefer to live there. However, cities are also overcrowded and expensive. Therefore, many people struggle with high living costs. As a result, they face financial stress and a lower quality of life.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I believe living in the countryside is better. People who desire a peaceful and healthy lifestyle should consider moving there. Although cities offer more opportunities, the benefits of the countryside often outweigh the disadvantages.
