Parking Garage Natural Ventilation
Media Natural Ventilation:
A mix of openings should be available in at least two opposite areas of the facade for uniform distribution. The minimum travel distance between any point on the premises and the opening should be closer than or equal to 25 m.
If the distance between the nearest opposing openings is greater than 30 m, other equidistant openings should be provided, allowing a margin of 5%.
- For garages with fewer than five parking spaces, instead of joint openings, consider:
- One or more inlet openings directly communicating with other countries at the bottom of an enclosure.
- One or more extraction openings directly communicating with the outside at the top of the enclosure, separated vertically by at least 1.5 m.
Ventilation Methods:
Ventilation must be designed for depression, solely for the parking area, using one of the following options:
- a) Mechanical extraction
- b) Admission and mechanical extraction
- To avoid stagnation of gaseous pollutants, vents should be arranged as follows or in a manner producing the same effect:
- One inlet and one extraction port per 100 m2 of floor space.
- The separation between the nearest extraction openings should be less than 10 m.
- A minimum of two-thirds of the exhaust openings should be sited on the roof at a distance less than or equal to 0.5 m.
- In parking slots, ventilation openings should be arranged jointly for admission into the compartments and extraction in the common circulation areas, ensuring each compartment has at least one inlet port.
Air Quality Standards
- IDA-1 (Optimum Air Quality): Hospitals, clinics, laboratories, and centers.
- IDA 2 (Good Air Quality): Offices, residential buildings (common areas of hotels, nursing homes, student housing), reading rooms, museums, courtrooms, classrooms, and similar pools.
- IDA 3 (Medium Air Quality): Commercial buildings, cinemas, theaters, halls, hotels (rooms), restaurants, cafes, bars, nightclubs, gyms, sports rooms (excluding swimming pools), and computer rooms.
- IDA 4 (Low Air Quality)
