Freeform Vector Drawing Tools
In the Toolbar, within the Vector group, you will find the tools that allow you to draw freely: the Line and Pen tools.
To use them, simply select the desired tool from the Toolbar and move the mouse to the work area. Click the mouse where you wish to start and keep the button pressed until you reach the end point.
The Line Tool
The line is the simplest vector element, as it is composed of only two points and the line that connects them.
With this tool, you can form different lines to create the desired figure.
To deselect a line, click in the negative area of the document. To select it again, grab the Pointer Tool from the Select group in the Toolbar.
Using the Properties Inspector
Always remember to observe the Properties Inspector, which allows you to modify the properties of selected objects.
You can change the color, width, and stroke categories, in addition to the object's edges.

The Pen Tool

Unlike the Line tool, the Pen allows you to create curved sections and segments, useful for drawing shapes like mountains or a simple cup. The Pen tool draws by connecting various points.
To use this tool, select it and click to mark a beginning point. While holding the mouse button, mark the second point. You will see two controls that define the length and curve of the figure you are creating.
Vector Stroke Tool

This tool allows for simple linear or curved drawings. Simply select it and sketch the image without releasing the mouse button.
Modifying Shapes with the Sub Selection Tool
With any of these tools, you can select a section of your sketch using the Sub Selection Tool.
The Sub Selection Tool activates an endless number of points (nodes), which can be modified by dragging the point that needs adjustment to the desired location, resulting in a new figure.
Basic Vector Shapes
Many designers choose to use basic shapes for their logos, often grouping or distorting them.
You can draw different types of basic shapes. For example, if you require a star, you can create one with sharp or rounded points, or a rectangle with straight or rounded corners.
Sketching Basic Forms (e.g., in Fireworks)
- Select your desired form from the Tool Panel.
- Drag the mouse over the work area until you reach the desired size.
- In the Properties Inspector, modify the fill and stroke color options, as well as the border size or other properties.
