The Dynamic Indoor Stick Sport

This game was born in Sweden, a country where sport is highly valued. It has since been adopted by numerous countries for both recreational sport and competitive play. It is a team sport that is simple to learn, allowing all players to participate effectively from the very first moments. This fast-paced game can be practiced at any age and requires each player to contribute actively, making it an excellent choice for physical training for other sports. Importantly, all violence is excluded, ensuring no peril and causing no damage to the playing surfaces.

Understanding the Game Mechanics

The Terrain

The playing terrain can vary in size and presentation. Recommended dimensions are between 10 and 20 meters. The field should preferably be surrounded by walls. Goals must be either 90-105 cm or 40-75 cm. The goal area must have a radius of 1.5 meters and be bounded by a line painted with chalk.

Players

The number of players must be proportional to the size of the ground:

  • 20x10 meters: 3-4 players per team
  • 40x20 meters: 4-5 players per team
  • 60x30 meters: 5-6 players per team

Game Duration

The game consists of two 15-minute halves, with no additional downtime or rest periods during play.

Starting Kick

At the beginning of the match, the referee throws the ball between two team captains, allowing for a small rebound. All other players must retreat 3 meters.

Free Kick

A free kick is performed at the location where the infraction occurred. The ball must not be aimed directly at the goal. Opponents must not be within 3 meters of the ball. The ball must travel at least 3 meters before entering the goal. The player taking the kick must not touch the ball again before it has touched another player.

Penalty Shot

The penalty shot is executed from a designated spot 7 meters from the goal line. There must not be a player in the goal area during the penalty shot. All other players must be separated and cannot touch the ball. After the penalty is executed, the ball must be played; the game cannot restart directly from the goal line.

Restart After Goal

After a goal is scored, players return to their respective areas. The ball is drawn to the opposite field. Handoffs are not permitted. Opponents should not be within 3 meters of the ball. The player taking the throw must not touch the ball again before it has touched another player.

The Goal Area Rules

The defense consists of players outside the goal area. No player should enter the area inside. If an attacker enters the goal area, the referee awards a free kick to the defending team. If a defender enters the goal area, the referee awards a penalty shot to the attacking team.
