CA3 - Cooking Show Review
Hello everybody.
Firstly, I would like to apologize for being late in sending my CA3.1. I have been very busy at work because I was given a lot of extra hours at the workplace and teleworking as well.
MasterChef: A Favorite Cooking Reality Show
Do you like cooking? Do you enjoy trying and innovating different meals and learning about any kind of cuisine? Then this is your TV programme. I am certainly not alone in my choice of favourite cooking reality show. In fact, MasterChef's share is increasingly high in Spain. This TV programme is definitely the one I like most.
Show Format and Judges
The format of this show is quite attractive. Most of the time, the competition takes place in a large kitchen where contestants, who are given cooking lessons by the best chefs in Spain like Arzak, Dacosta, or Roncero, prepare several dishes for the trio of judges. These judges are usually well-known chefs and owners of great famous restaurants; in fact, one of the judges was chef Ferran Adrià, who is considered to be the best chef in the world.
The Thrill of the Competition
The thing I like most is the high pressure under which contestants prepare these dishes. It’s amazing to see how good some of them are at brilliantly cooking complex signature dishes in a certain amount of time they are given while they are, at the same time, asked about their background or the way everything has been made up. If two of the judges say “no” to any of the dishes or challenges, the contestant leaves the programme. It gets really exciting, especially when you become a fan of some of them.
Lesser Challenges
However, not everything is as thrilling as the aforementioned part of the contest. There are also some little challenges for the amateur chefs consisting of routine tasks such as slicing potatoes or dicing onions while they are thoroughly observed by the judges.
Personal and Emotional Aspects
I find it very interesting because, apart from being a contest, you can also observe the different social relationships that are grown among the contestants and the emotional part of them: stress, happiness, frustration, excitement, and disappointment.
I highly recommend this TV show if you enjoy cooking lessons and want to get some original ideas to try at home.
Regards.
