Flawless victory. Achan kills everyone he’s supposed to but doesn’t commit Herem. Steals textiles and money.

Lose the battle because of Achan’s past actions. Joshua kills Achan and his family. Israelites win.

Achan is responsible.

Outcome: Lose at first, but when they kill Achan and his family and go back to fight again, they win easily as it should have been because it was a small city that was considered easy to get.

5. Joshua breaks the Israelites up. No leader; sets up judges.

It means society and government is loosely formed and separate from each other, causing Israelites to be divided and not united.
