Dr. Mortimer's Revelation
Dr. Mortimer took out a scroll and read it. It was about a legend about the curse of the Baskerville. Later, he took out the newspaper where it was covered the death of Sir Charles Baskerville, the owner of the mansion, and said that he had died for a cause of love.
Investigation Begins
Mortimer tells Holmes and Watson that Mr. Charles stayed in part of a while, since there were cigarettes. Holmes asks him what he needed from his service, which was to ask what to do with Sir Henry, who was the heir of Mr. Charles. Sherlock thinks to do for 24 hours and tells his assistant, Watson, that Mr. Charles was running away from something and wanted to find out. They meet up with the Baskervilles and Mortimer the next day.
Observations at Baskerville Hall
When the detectives entered Sir Henry's house, they observed that he was a robust man. Inside the home, they reasoned, moved away from the moor. Those cuts come from a newspaper. That day they had lunch and saw a man with a beard, they suspected, so they persecuted him, failed to see who he was.
Strange Encounters
Dr. Mortimer and Sir Henry go to the place where they were going to have lunch. Henry would like to go to Baskerville Hall, so Sherlock tells him. When Holmes was in her house, he received 2 telegrams: Barrymore declared himself in the Baskerville mansion and the other call that the boy found nothing in the hotel bins. After that, Holmes meets with the coachman, who tells the detective that the strange man's name is Sherlock Holmes.
Departure to Devonshire
Sir Henry Baskerville and Dr. Mortimer were ready on the agreed day and, as they had decided, set out for Devonshire. Sherlock accompanied Watson to the station and gave him instructions before leaving. His companions had already reserved seats in a first-class car and were waiting for them on the platform.
Mysterious Occurrences
The next day, Watson and Sir Henry agreed that the night before a woman was crying bitterly. He replied that there were only two women in the house, the maid and his wife. The first lived in the other wing and assured that his wife did not emit those noises. But it wasn't true, since Watson could see her, and her eyes were swollen. Thus, he discovered that he had not received it himself, but his wife, since he was in the attic. When he returned home, he met a stranger, who, after introducing himself, discovered that his name was Stapleton. After a small talk about the mysterious death of Sir Henry, the man invites Watson to come to his house, so he can introduce him to his sister, which he agreed to.
Reports to Holmes
This is the first report that Watson sends to Holmes, in the account that it is believed that the president of the moor has already left, therefore the farmers are already sleeping better. He also says that the baronet begins to be interested in Miss Stapleton, since she is a beautiful and fascinating woman. Such a union is supposed to be pleasing to his brother, but it doesn't seem to be that way. He also narrated that he had met another neighbor of the moor, Mr. Frankland, that he is a man who is passionate about law. He tells that last night, he heard a person crossing in front of the room where he slept. He went out to see who he was and discovered that it was Barrymore. The butler entered a room, Watson watched from the door, saw the servant moved the candle in the glass, after a few minutes, blew out the candle, and the detective hurried back to his room.
Unraveling the Mystery
The detective comments with the baronet, and they decide that the next night they will follow Barrymore, to know what he was doing. Once the conversation was over, Sir Henry, prepared to leave for what Watson did the same, the baronet was surprised, and told him that he had stayed with Miss Stapleton, so he could not accompany him. When he had already left, Watson began to have regrets so he decided to follow him. Then Stapleton appeared of it is not known where, and advanced towards the couple, it seemed that they had an argument, later, his sister and he, left leaving the baronet alone and bewildered.
