What happened to a good man with his son

The movie “thank you for smoking” is about a man, Nick Naylor, that defends the rights of the smokers. Nick being the protagonist of the tail, suffers a moral crisis because of his work so he begins to question what is the right thing to do, if he should leave the company or if he should stay.

At the beginning of the movie, the tabaco companies where having some problems with the government because they wanted to create a special package showing the danger that the product does. Nick didn’t agree about this, but the government said that young kids where buying tabaco and that wasn’t right.  However, Nick wanted to place the tabaco brand in movies as part of the company publicity and because of this, reporters attack the tabaco company and Nick as being the defender of the company argued that the product is what it is and if someone wanted to buy it or not they had the right to decide.

Later on, Nick start to question what is the right thing to do when he found out that the man that represented his tabaco company years ago almost died because of smoking and also that the company didn’t pay his treatment. Nonetheless, Nick son also asked him about his job and because of that he started to panic. When reporters asked him why would he work for a company that killed people, he always answer that he was doing it because he had to pay a rent and to give his child a good life, but after all he realized that what he was doing was morally incorrect and that his son knew that.

In conclusion, Nick stayed in the company and when a reporter asked him what would you do if his son wanted a cigarette, he said “I would like to be the one that gives him his first cigarette”. Nick at the end of the movie realized that the decisions are made by one, but also, he agreed that children or underage kids should not be allowed to buy tabaco.

Nick is Finally kicked out of the company for the article.
