track events: Short dist races(100,200,4,6), Middle dist:(8, 15), Long:(30, 30 steeplechase, 50, 100), Relay: (normal, distance medley relay, sprint medley relay), Hurdles(110, 100,400)// Road events: Marathon( covers a distance of 42195km, the marathon as an athletic events in the summer Olympic games. Is the ultimate challenge in endurance and strength, requiring the athlete to pace themselves from the beginning to avoid running out of oxygen. Racewalking: is a popular event world wide but is usually only included in the major competitions, like Olympics.. It requires the athlete to cover a set distance as quickly as possible, the toe of the back foot is not permited to leave the ground until the heel of the front foot makes contact with the ground. Field events: jumping events(starting run, take off, flight, landing)  High jump(athletes sprint down a runway towards a four meter long horizontal bar and jump vertically over the bar to a cushioned mattress.  Long jump(take-off line), Triple jump( is know as the hop, step and jump) Pole Vault( requires the athlete to clear the height of a horizontal bar with the assistance of a vertical pole, they plant the pole in a box/  Throwing Events: Hammer( is an extremely heavy metal ball weighting 7.2 attacked to a handle, strength and technique, area) Discuss(making use a spinning technique to bring speed and strength, circle before landing) Javelin( speed and strength, throw a long spiked poles far as possible, land with the trip, throwing line.) Shot put( requiring more strength than any other event, begin the throw from a stationary position, only one hand, don´t leave the circle before the shot touched the ground)
mixed events: Heptathlon: combines seven different track and field events, test endurance, strenght and all- round ability, 100m hurdles, high jump, shot put, 200m run and long jump, javelin, and the 800m run  Decathlon: for male, tests stamina and strength through 10 different track and field events 100m run, long jump, shot put, high jump and 400m run,, 110 m hurdles, discus, pole vault, javelin and 1500m run. There are only three attemps allowed in each field.
