Comparative and Superlative Adjectives
1. Adding -er and -est to Short Adjectives
For short adjectives (one or sometimes two syllables), add -er for the comparative and -est for the superlative.
- short: shorter (comparative), shortest (superlative)
Example: Maria is shorter than Julia. - old: older (comparative), oldest (superlative)
Example: My bike is older than your motorcycle. - small: smaller (comparative), smallest (superlative)
Example: The cat is smaller than the dog.
2. Adjectives Ending in -y
For short adjectives ending in a consonant and -y, change the -y to -i and add -er or -est.
- lucky: luckier (comparative), luckiest (superlative)

3. Adjectives Ending in -e

4. Longer Adjectives
Use "more"/"less" (for comparative) and "most"/"least" (for superlative) before longer adjectives (two or more syllables).
