Gender Inequality in Domestic Responsibilities

It is generally agreed that men and women should share family responsibilities. However, we live in a society where women handle 80% of domestic tasks. Everybody should try to collaborate in doing housework.

Many people think that if men work and bring money home, they should rest at home; that's their job. Besides, it is traditionally believed that women are better at choosing and taking care of children.

The Struggle for Gender Equality

In fact, I don't consider women equal to men because the female gender has always had it much harder than men.

Society expects women to stay at home and look after their children. La sociedad espera que las mujeres se queden en casa para cuidar de sus hijos.

Many people want women to have the same opportunities as men. Mucha gente quiere que las mujeres tengan las mismas oportunidades que los hombres.

Gender equality needs men to get involved too. La igualdad de género necesita que los hombres se vuelquen también.

I expect to see real equality in the next 20 years. Espero ver igualdad de verdad en los próximos 20 años.

Women want to have the same opportunities as men. Las mujeres quieren tener las mismas oportunidades que los hombres.

Men need to stop ignoring gender inequalities. Los hombres necesitan dejar de ignorar las desigualdades de género.

I would like to earn as much as my male colleagues. My gustaría ganar lo mismo que mis compañeros masculinos.

Addressing Gender Discrimination

From my point of view, there are many aspects to improve in the society we live in, but one of the most important for me is gender discrimination.

The judge's verdict in the "La Manada" case has created much unrest in the population, and there have been demonstrations throughout the country.

I think that these violations should not be allowed, and new laws with life imprisonment for these issues should be created.
