Weapon to Cover: Loading and Preparing for Carry

When you take the gun, the first step is to ensure a round is chambered. Manually delay the slide with your thumb and index finger to its most backward position. If not automatically supplied with your charger, it will not be unlocked with the lever. This allows us to ensure there is no cartridge. If necessary, especially in poor visibility, insert your finger to confirm. Subsequent actions involve using the lever to stop the slide in its most advanced or normal position.

Once the weapon is secured and confirmed to be unloaded, we can proceed with total security to carry the weapon in the DOS condition:

  • Firmly insert the charger up to its peak.
  • With a swift pull of the slide, we will feed the gun.

This leaves the firing system and percussion in single action, with the hammer in its rearmost position, secured by the safety, ready to fire. To transition to double action, press the desamartillado lever downwards with your thumb to move the hammer to its most forward position. In this state, the gun is in double action. Do not activate the manual safety, as the possibility of an accidental discharge is almost impossible. Once these steps are followed, introduce the gun into its holster.

Removing the Weapon: Basic Safety First

Start with the basic safety rule: remove the charger and check that the chamber is empty. With this point remembered, let us proceed to the slide disassembly. Displace the slide backward until the recess for the lever on the slide coincides with the front end of the lever. Press the axis of the lever and extract it. Displace the slide forward, away from the handle. Remove the shock-absorbing device. The barrel, tilted slightly upward behind its rear, can then be drawn back.

Basic Safety Rules

  1. A firearm is always loaded.
  2. Never place your finger on the trigger until you are ready to fire.
  3. Never point your gun at anything you are not willing to destroy.
  4. Always check your weapon's target.
  5. Ensure your weapon is always secure.
  6. Store your weapon in a safe place, with the chamber empty and the magazine removed.

Transitioning the Weapon from Simple to Double Action

Toggle the desamartillado safe to hammer down. The hammer is placed in the depressed position. The fin acts on the fastener, and a held ratchet (neutral) secures the weapon. The firing pin remains blocked by the safety, and the hammer claw stops its fall.
