Exciting News from Ricardo: Finished University and San Juan Party

Dear Alfred:

Sorry for not writing earlier, but I was busy doing my final exams. I definitely have finished my university degree. I have been studying hard to get it. As I told you, I have always wanted to be a primary school teacher. Now that I have finished I can start a practical period. It is possible that I come back to Uk. If I get an Erasmus grant I would like to go to London again.

What about you? I hope everything is alright.

San Juan party is going to be celebrated here next week. It is a celebration where many people go to the beach and make big fires. It is a tradition to jump over the fire to have luck the rest of the year. There is music and we dance a lot. It would be great that you were here with us by then. I want you to meet my other friends. I have told them about you many times and they are looking forward to see you here. You can stay in my house all the time you wish. I’m not going anywhere this summer because here are my perfect holidays.

Although San Juan is different from London, you will enjoy it because the weather, the cooking, and the people are as you usually think they are, typical Spanish. I expect that your experience here will be as mine in London. I specially remember the first day when we went to the London Eye. I was very surprised to see London from above. I was used to my small city and suddenly all seemed to me enormous and sometimes odd. For example your red telephone boxes, or your custom of driving on the left.

It was very nice to live with you that time, and I’m very much obliged to you for letting me stay there. I will never forget it as it was the first time I went out from my country and it was really hard at the beginning. Don’t forget my invitation to come here. Now that is time of holiday for you too I guess it will be easier to you to come. My family and friends would be very glad to meet you. That’s all for now.
