Birth and Family
Eva Maria Noblezada was born on March 18, 1996, in San Diego, California. She is of Filipino descent through her father, Jon, and Mexican American heritage through her mother, Angie Noblezada. Her aunt is Annette Calud, known for playing Celina on Sesame Street.
Education and Early Recognition
Her family later moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, where she attended the Northwest School of the Arts until she was 17.
On July 1, 2013, Noblezada was one of five finalists for the 2013 National High School Musical Theatre Awards, also known as the Jimmy Awards. Her performance of "With You" from Ghost at the Minskoff Theatre in New York City caught the attention of casting director Tara Rubin. Rubin arranged an audition for the then 17-year-old Noblezada with producer Cameron Mackintosh for the upcoming West End revival of Miss Saigon. Noblezada was subsequently cast in the lead role of Kim.
Career Highlights
Miss Saigon: West End Debut
In the spring of 2014, Noblezada left the Northwest School of the Arts to star in Miss Saigon in London. Her portrayal of Kim earned her the 2015 WhatsOnStage Award for Best Actress in a Musical. She also performed "I'd Give My Life for You" at the 2015 Laurence Olivier Awards ceremony.
Les Misérables: Éponine
Following the limited run of Miss Saigon in London, Noblezada took on the role of Éponine in the West End production of Les Misérables in April 2016.
Carnegie Hall Debut
On May 2, 2016, Noblezada made her Carnegie Hall debut. She celebrated composers Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg, performing "The Movie in My Mind" alongside Lea Salonga and the New York Pops.
Miss Saigon: Broadway Revival
Noblezada reprised her acclaimed performance as Kim in the first Broadway revival of Miss Saigon.
