Formal Job Application Letter

Dear Ms Harman,

I saw your advertisement for part-time staff in the local paper and I am writing to apply for a job as a cashier in your restaurant in Oxford.

I am 16 years old and I am a student at St Mary's School. I am friendly, hard-working and good at maths. My teachers always say that I am one of the most responsible people in my class. I've worked as a waitress in a café and I have served customers in a shop, so I am used to working with people.

At the moment, I am working in a newsagent's. It's very small and quiet, so I am looking for a more interesting job in a busier place. The earliest date that I could start working at Better Burgers is Saturday 1st April.
