English Verb Tenses, Adjectives and Synonyms
1. Verb: listen — Tenses
- Present simple: I, you, we, they listen; he, she, it listens. Jo escolto.
- Past simple: I, you, we, they listened; he, she, it listened. Jo vaig escoltar. (Used to + base form: listen)
- Present continuous: I am listening; he, she, it is listening; we, you, they are listening. Jo estic escoltant.
- Past continuous: I was listening; he, she, it was listening; we, you, they were listening. Jo estava escoltant.
- (Verb: have):
- Present perfect: I, you, we, they have listened; he, she, it has listened. Jo he escoltat.
- Past perfect: I, you, we, they had listened; he, she, it had listened. Jo havia escoltat.

Examples and degrees:
- Adjectives (examples): boiling, very hot (exaggeration). great, very good, an extremely great.
- Superiority:
- Adjective: cold, clever, comprehensive
- Comparative: colder than; cleverer / more clever; more comprehensive
- Superlative: the coldest; the cleverest / the most clever; the most comprehensive
- Equality: as cold as; as clever as; as comprehensive as
- Inferiority:
- Adjective: cold, clever, comprehensive
- Comparative: less cold; less clever; less comprehensive
- Superlative: the least cold; the least clever; the least comprehensive
- Order of adjectives: Opinion (beautiful), Size (long), Shape (shape/form), Age (old), Colour (blue), Origin (Indian), Material (ceramic), Purpose (use), Noun (name).
4. Synonyms
- Excrement: shit, crap, poo, faeces, doodoo.
- Lavatory: toilet, bowl, the bathroom, WC.
- Words with "toilet": toilet bowl, toilet flush, toilet water, toilet soap, toilet bag, toilet brush, toilet paper.
- Wonderful: incredible, amazing, awesome, extraordinary.
- Intelligent: smart, clever, bright, sharp.
