1. Verb: listen — Tenses

  • Present simple: I, you, we, they listen; he, she, it listens. Jo escolto.
  • Past simple: I, you, we, they listened; he, she, it listened. Jo vaig escoltar. (Used to + base form: listen)
  • Present continuous: I am listening; he, she, it is listening; we, you, they are listening. Jo estic escoltant.

  • (Verb: have):

  • Superiority:
    • Adjective: cold, clever, comprehensive
    • Comparative: colder than; cleverer / more clever; more comprehensive
    • Superlative: the coldest; the cleverest / the most clever; the most comprehensive
  • Equality: as cold as; as clever as; as comprehensive as
  • Inferiority:
    • Adjective: cold, clever, comprehensive
    • Comparative: less cold; less clever; less comprehensive
    • Superlative: the least cold; the least clever; the least comprehensive
  • Order of adjectives: Opinion (beautiful), Size (long), Shape (shape/form), Age (old), Colour (blue), Origin (Indian), Material (ceramic), Purpose (use), Noun (name).

4. Synonyms

  • Excrement: shit, crap, poo, faeces, doodoo.
  • Lavatory: toilet, bowl, the bathroom, WC.
  • Words with "toilet": toilet bowl, toilet flush, toilet water, toilet soap, toilet bag, toilet brush, toilet paper.
  • Wonderful: incredible, amazing, awesome, extraordinary.
